Hello Sweeties!
Such a great foodie find in Quezon City is 5 Loaves and 2 Fish. It is a relatively new restaurant located at The Rock Barangay Holy Spirit in Quezon City.
This is the reason when I received the invitation to the foodie event for 5 Loaves and 2Fish I happily accepted.
According to Ms. Dinah Miro, owner and the creative heart of the restaurant the path to launching their restaurant was not simple. Prior to the opening they encountered a lot of challenges along the way. One of which is the naming of the establishment, they had a lot of different names in mind of the restaurant all of which are already taken and registered. It was around mind July 2015 when finally found the perfect name found in the bible verse John 6:1-14 which talks about the miracle of the 5 Loaves and 2 Fish, and the rest as they say is history.
One of the restaurants speciality is the very unique bread called Lavosh, unleavened flat bread that originated in Armenia. a thin crisp bread used mostly to scoop food and it is the perfect appetizer to start a meal. It is served with the homemade pesto brûlée or chicken liver pate.
Come August, they will come out with the sweet Lavosh, they will be using cacao.
Trivia about Ms. Dinah’s Lavosh, it won an award at Merchant Central’s Ultimate Taste Test 2011, organized by foodies Anton Diaz of (Our Awesome Planet ) and RJ Ledesma (well-known media celebrity, columnist, events host and author)
As I enter this two story shop. There is a mezzanine on the 2nd level. I found that it reminds me a lot of the Mom and Pop shops my parents used to take me when I was younger. Such a welcoming homey feel about it that you automatically relax as you sit down.
Now on to the dishes! Yay!
Ms Dinah, who pays assistant to her mother in the kitchen has developed her own recipes to make up the diverse menu of the restaurant. The homemade feel of the 5 Loaves and 2 Fish can also be tasted in their dishes since most of their dips, dressings and sauces are made from scratch using nothing but the very best local ingredients.

House blend pork BBQ Pork Belly, marinated and glaced with their own mix of barbecue sauce, it is baked for 4-6 hours to make it nice and tender, they serve it with rice and coleslaw.
I love this salad. Honeyed balayan dressing, fresh greens, pickled mangos (specialty of Ms. Dinah’s mother in-law) diced tomatoes, roasted cashed nuts with kesong puti, tinapa bits. I and another foodie finished this up right away and I am not even fond of tinapa.
Low cooked until it is fork tender and served with mashed potatoes with olives and shiitake mushrooms. The Lingua is also a must try! I rarely eat this and this is the first one that I tried that I really enjoyed. The sauce is rich but not overpowering. The meat tender and almost melts in your mouth.
Using 100 % purse organic single origin trinitarian cacao to make the tablea cake with chocolate whipped cream. Ms Dinah, supports the Cacao famers of Chocolate de San Isidro cooperative in Davao where she gets her cacao.
If you can only stay at 5 Loaves and 2 Fish for a bit order a whole cake or two. They have such a great selection of cakes available. I recommend their Blueberry Cheesecake, Match Green Tea Cake, Dulce de leche Salted Caramel, Pink Guava Cheesecake and the Mango Sublime Cheesecake!
