The CFA Society Philippines, a local member society of the CFA Institute that sets the standard for professional excellence and credentials in the finance and investment industry, is organizing the fifth edition of the Financial Fitness Run on May 27, 2018 at the Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City with the theme “7 Steps to Financial Fitness”.

The Financial Fitness Run is the annual fun run of CFA Society Philippines that aims to capitalize on the popularity of the running sport in educating the investing public about the importance of being financially fit and how to be financially fit.

Are you Vitamin D Deficient? Fear Not, Forti-D is here

As we get older, we need to focus more on our health above anything else. It came as a surprise to me that although I am out and about all day and most mornings under the sun, I have Vitamin D deficiency.

Vitamin D Deficiency is strongly linked to Chronic Diseases such as Cancer, Heart Failure, Diabetes, etc.

Studies how that 36 of our organs and tissues are regulated by Vitamin D, including our heart, lungs, brain, and bones.  Sadly not all get the sufficient Vitamin D requirement they need.

According to a study conducted by Hi-Precision Diagnostics on  8200 Filipinos from key cities, 7 out of 10 Filipinos are Vitamin D Deficient.

This is not really surprising since a lot of people are stuck indoors. It’s hard to get enough Vitamin D from the sun (indoor lifestyle, clothing, skin color, aging, and use of umbrellas or sunscreen limit Vitamin D absorption)

It’s difficult to obtain from food (RDA of Vitamin D is equivalent to 40 eggs / 8 glasses of milk / 800g of salmon / 2 cans of tuna flakes every day)
