I was with bloggers friends attending an event at Le Petit Souffle. I rarely go to Makati because I feel it is too out of the way for me. Located on the third floor of Century City Mall near Fully Booked. I was glad I got to try some of the amazing dishes of this very unique restaurant.
LE PETIT SOUFFLÉ is French-Japanese Cafe and concept store. Brain child of Pastry Chef Miko Paras, with Kristine Lotilla and Chef Noel Mauricio, in partnership with Charles Paw of Hole in the Wall.
The Interiors are so beautiful, The ambiance reminds me a great deal of the Japanese coffee shops in the Japanese dramas I watch with my daughter. The place is very comfortable and relaxing, unlike the fast food joints where we are always in a rush to finish, Here we can get to take our time and enjoy the atmosphere and the food.
I often get overwhelmed with the very complicated menu. I like that their menu is simple and no fuss and to the point.
Forest Berries + Mint+ Celery – I would have enjoyed this drink more if it didn`t have that celery after taste, but this is just me.
Foie Gras Mac and Cheese -Macaroni with sharp cheddar, emmental with shimeji, crimini, and Hungarian sausage, topped with seared Foie Gras.
For someone who likes anything with a lot of cheese, this is a new experience for me. This dish is the ultimate macaroni and cheese, seriously it is so rich in all aspects that I couldn`t finish the order meant for one person!
Aged Duck Confit – Served with a side of roasted sweet potato salad tossed with red wine reduction.
I really enjoyed this Aged Duck Confit, since it is the very first time I ever tried duck. It was very tender, juicy and a slight gaminess that was not bad at all. I also enjoyed the salad that came with the duck.
Pistachio served with Cherry Griottine Confiture – Frozen Souffle.
I loved this dessert. It is like 1 pint of Pistachio ice cream with diced pistachio nuts on the side, you pour the cherry griottine on top, but I forgot all about the sauce after one taste of this dessert. It was so delicious. I am such a sucker for ice cream. I also enjoyed it because it wasn`t as sweet as other desserts I tasted.
Le Petit Souffle is a great place to hang out with friends of family to enjoy the French-Japanese atmosphere and dishes. Their dishes are large enough to be shared by two people. So if you are ever in Century City Mall, it would an experience to dine here. Although, if you are on a serious diet, I suggest you avoid the place altogether, since the food is so rich and so good.
