Every July the country is observes National Disaster Consciousness month. With July almost over I thought it fitting to share with you a little booklet I found that helps children, young people how to prepared react in case of emergencies.
Young children are so independent these days I am amazed at what they could actually do at a young age, more so if they are well informed and armed with knowledge on how to keep themselves and their families safe from harm.
Hands Ako! Written by Liwliwa Malabed and Illustrated by Mia Lagos, is actually a small booklet that talks about natural calamities like Typhoons, Earthquake and Volcanic eruptions and how to prepare for such occurrences, should the need arise. It also contains a chapter about first aid, what to do in case of fire and who to call in case of emergencies.
The booklet cost only 120php, but it is packed with extensive information. Written in Filipino but very easy to understand.
