Dragon Foodie Review: Yummy Set Meals at Hokkaido Ramen Santouka

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka

Hello Sweeties!

My beastie Raffy and I were run haggard last Friday. I had to do a very important errand at Quezon City Hall that took 4 hours! Really, I lie not.  4 hours of waiting! We were both tired and hungry, and as if in sync we both mouthed that we wanted to consume something warm and filling. This means one thing to us. RAMEN.

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka (named after Santōka Taneda a famous Japanese poet) considered one of the best ramen franchise from the cold region of Hokkaido. I think they opened in Manila 2 years ago. I know we were a bit late in trying these out.  I usually dine at a new place with a friend or one of my children so as I can fully appreciate the menu.

What to find out what Raffy and I had for late lunch/dinner? Read on!

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is located at Level 4 at Trinova Mall.  It is right next door to Katsu Sora that serves kick ass Tonkatsu ( that is another story).  We were lucky we were not part of the lunch time crowd coz the place tends to be full during lunch and weekends.

Set G Curry Rice and Small Ramen in Miso (soybean paste flavor) priced at 470php

I really love the fact that Hokkaido Ramen had set meals. Raffy and I enjoy watching Japanese television dramas (テレビドラマ terabit drama) where the characters have their meals at a restaurant with set meals.  We finally get to have one!

Raffy decided on having Set E ( Small Ramen with Friend Salmon and Prawn) while I had the Set G (Small Ramen with Curry Rice Bowl) photo below. Each set meal comes with a side order of Tsekemono, salad, small rice bowl, cupcake and warm tea)

Ramen in Miso

Small ramen in savory miso

You can choose what soup stock you want for your ramen  Raffy had Shio Ramen (Salt Flavor) while I had it in Miso Ramen (Soybean Paste Flavor). There are other  flavors to choose from like Kare-miso (spicy soybean paste), Shoyu Ramen (Soy Sauce) that we may try when we get back to dine coz we will back.

I really enjoyed the soup stock, the ramen noodles I felts pretty ordinary. The pork, veggies and seaweed were very fresh and tasty. Thinking about it makes my mouth water…as I write.

She was frowning in her first photo coz she was starving I mad her smile in this one for the blog lol.

Meee

Indulge me as I do what I always wanted to do after eating ramen… finishing off by slipping from the bowl

Cherry and Choclate Mousse Mochi

Sakura (75php) and Chocolate Mousse Mochi (95php)

We had that nice palate cleanser tiny cupcake as part of the meal. Raffy wanted the yummy mochi! It was the perfect end to a nice meal.

I have to tell you though. It is kinda pricy. Our meal cost roughly a (1,000php) thousand pesos without drinks since we had the house water. The servers were all very alert and polite.  The place was well lit and clean. Although found it disturbing that one of the staff was siting on the floor (he was in the authorized staff room but we can see him from where we were setting).

All in all, Raffy enjoyed out meal at Hokkaido Ramen Santouka and we will dine there again with my hubsy when he comes home for vacation and Jarod who loves soups.

Until next time!
