Dragon Foodie Review: Donna`s Cafe Lilac Marikina City

Raffy came from her Grade 11 Quezon Province Immersion and she wanted a nice pasta meal, apparently side from a running toilet she missed pasta the most. (lol) It was late but we decided to try out the newly opened Donna`s Cafe, Lilac Street Marikina City.

I already had a dinner so I only ordered an iced coffee.

Donna`s Cafe Marikina is located near a lot of eateries, near the border of Antipolo at Bent Building. The place is relatively small but then all the arteries in the area are of the same size. It is well lit and has a nice pottery barn feel to it.

Iced Caramel Macchiato (140php)

I had Iced Caramel Macchiato, it was a tall glass with whipped cream on top. It was ok, but nothing exceptional.

Shrimp in Pesto Sauce (200php)

Raffy ordered the Shrimp in Pesto Sauce, she loves shrimp. She liked this dish a lot, I had to stop her from licking the plate.

Red Velvet Cupcake (60php)

For dessert, we opted for cupcakes. apparently the Donna`s Chocolate Cupcake and the Cream Puff were not available. This is just sad, for a new place they should at least have everything on the menu available or if not they should have indicated it beforehand.

In the end we had the Carrot Cupcake and the Red Velvet Cupcake1. The Carrot Cupcake was their bestseller and rightly so since it is one of the best I have ever tasted. The Red Velvet was not exceptional though. The cupcakes are of average size.

One of the features of Donna`s Cafe is that they serve Tea in a pot, for 150php. This I want to try out when I comeback, they have Moroccan mint which is my favorite, I would also like to try out the Donna`s Chocolate Cupcake and pray it will be available. And their baby back ribs!

The service was quick and the servers were polite, We waited a bit before Raffy`s pasta was served but it was worth the wait. She was complaining because there was no wifi available (lol).

The place is so bright and airy, it would be a great place to relax with friends over a nice cup of tea. I do wish they would offer scones with the tea though.
