Be Part of Smile Train and Change Someone’s Life Forever

Hello Sweetie,

Last Thursday I braved Makati yet again to attend the Media Launch of Smile Train.

Smile Train, the world’s leading cleft charity, has launched an  all-smiles photo exhibit in Glorietta 3, Makati. This exhibit not is not only to invites more Filipinos to be Smile Makers, but also learn more about the condition.

What is Cleft Lip or Celft Palete?

Cleft lip, with or without cleft palate, affects one in 700 babies annually, and is the fourth most common birth defect in the world. Clefts occur more often in children of Asian, Latino, or Native American descent. However, compared with boys, twice as many girls have cleft palate without a cleft lip.  The condition is treatable with surgery but it usually takes several surgeries.

In the Philippines there are several charities set up, one of them is Smile Train.

Unveiled  last February 13, the #SmileMakerAko Exhibit gives Filipinos a peek into how the cleft charity has given more than one million children around the world not only new smiles, but also second chances at life.
