Fluorescent and the Environment

There are also environmental issues connected to the use of fluorescent light bulbs. For those who don’t know yet, fluorescent contains a small amount of mercury, which means that the careless disposal can affect the ecological system.

These studies have prompted most households to switch into the use of CFL during the last few decades. They were considered less harmful but they still contained fluorescent, so mercury is still present.
