Pamper Your Skin the Right Way at Adraneda Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery Clinic

Adraneda Dermatology & Surgery Clinic 2nd flr, MEC Bldg. San Roque, Marikina City

Hello Sweeties!

I rarely find time to take care of my skin. I know I know, my bad. Seriously skin care was never a top priority for me growing up, I have no excuse,  but honestly is the first thing you people see when they meet you. It is the largest organ in our body.  Over the years aesthetic clinics have sprouted like mushrooms in malls, even the neighborhood barberya (barber shop) has some sort of  dermatological services.  But trust me when I say not all dermatological treatments are created equal.

A good chunk of these have unqualified “therapist” and “aesthetician” handling your skin. It really is no surprise that a lot of skin complications caused by mishandling of the skin.

In fact a lot of people, me included have depended heavily on advertised products – it looks so good on the young actress, model etc it might work out for me too!  That is all well and good according to Dr. Miriam Adraneda but it is best to go to the specialist to actually see to our personal skin care needs. We all have our unique skin care needs and just like any health need, one person`s prescription does not apply to all no matter how similar the circumstances are.

Is your favorite Derma a member of the Philippine Dermatological Society?

Let`s be honest, the reason why we rather go to the popular clinics is because we are intimidated by the actual doctors, afraid that it would cost more for a treatment.

Apparently, there are public hospitals with dermatologist that you can consult about you skincare needs for free or for a minimal fee.  It is best to consult an expert like Dra. AdranedaPDS certified dermatologist. There is nothing wrong with having facials from aestheticians or facial theraphist but we should make a conscious effort to let only PDS certified Dermatologist treat our skin problems., especially on invasive treatments like pricking and wart removals.

I have always been bothered with the warts around my face and neck,  Why did I choose to have it treated? Well aside from it being unsightly, warts are contagious and can spread throughout the body and may infect your children. I shudder to think!

Love your skin Stop Risking it

I finally decided that the best course of action and the fastest was to have it cauterized (electrocautery) at Adraneda Clinic. I had a lot of misgivings about anyone touching my face with a hot instrument but seeing Dra. Miriam is an actually doctor and dermatologist that studied her specialization for several years I was assured. I heard horror stories of women getting scared because the person who handled their de-warting was not a professional.

I did not wear any make-up, but her assistant cleansed my face before the session.

My face and neck were taped up after the application of a topical anesthesia, according to Dra. Miriam this will help in the absorption of the meds and lessen the pain of the procedure

The procedure was not as painful as I anticipated. I won`t lie, there are slight zing but nothing intolerable.

Before and After Shots of my wart removal session

I am in my late 40s now, my skin is not what it use to be but still better late than never. To be honest, I never realized that the warts on my neck were this many!

Downtime – there was none. At least for me, I went about my work as per usual, I actually took a bath the following day, although medical practitioners would advise that you wait 2-3 days.

The great thing about an actual Dermatologist treating your skin needs is they can actually prescribe you meds.

I applied this cream 2x a day until the scabs fall off.  They did fall off after the 3rd day. They are super itchy during the time they are healing the hydrocortisone cream helped lessen the discomfort.  Please don`t scratch or scrape the scabs yourself to avoid scaring.

I don`t have any scares on my face or next after the session.

Dra. Miriam also has clinic hours in Medical City based in malls but it would be best to have your consolation and session at the her San Roque, Marikina Clinic that she shares with her Cosmetic Surgeon husband.

Here are some of her popular treatments and she uses the best and the most high tech equipment;

Adrenada Clinic uses Q Switch -ND YAG laser. This laser removes both colored and black tattoo. It can also be used to remove moles, birthmarks and pigmentations, multiple sessions are required though.

Fractional RF Laser– this can be used for stretchmarks (shown in photo), acne scars, open pores, burn or surgical scars, and wrinkle treatment. multiple sessions required but improvement may be seen after 1st session

Ulthera – used for non-surgical lifting of skin. ideal for patients with mild to moderate sagging skin. normally, only 1-2 sessions done in a year

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) – used for hair removal on upper lip, underarms, bikini area, arms & legs. Normally between 6-10 sessions required. machine is also used for spider veins, redness of the face ( due to acne or rosacea), and for skin rejuvenation

Radiofrequency (RF) is used for toning of the skin. It promotes collagen formation, thus causing the skin to firm up. Treatment areas include face, chin, arms, tummy & thighs. Best partnered with our Lipocavitation machine and Mesotherapy to hasten results.

As a member of PDS, Dra Miriam of course promotes proper skincare

When we reach a certain age, we need to stay healthy, skin care is one of the simplest – abet vain way to stop the hands of time from run too fast.  If anyone should handle your skin it should be someone who know what they are doing and would have your comfort and safety in mind.  Go to a PDS accredited Dermatologist or clinic.

For my East based friends, you need not go as far as BGC Taguig or Makati to get quality and certified skin care treatment, there is a clinic near close to Marikina, Pasig and Rizal area that have the most high tech equipment and board certified doctors – Adraneda Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery Clinic.
