Dragon Foodie Review: Cerchio Grill and Lounge Tomas Morato

Hello Sweeties!

I don`t frequent the Tomas Morato area often and when I do I stumble upon great dining places. I was there for an event, but surprisingly the food became one of the highlights of the time there.

Cerchio Grille and Lounge is located at Scout Lumbago, it has great ambiance and serves Asian and Filipino Food. Pronounced as  ‘Tzerhr.kyoh’ which means Circle in Italian. This is the inspiration behind the interiors of the entire place, designed by Ivy Almario. The creators of Romulo Cafe have transformed some dilapidated adjacent apartments into a classy, dinning place that serves Asian Filipino cuisine.

My son Jarod has been very interested in taking photos, tasting and dining on Food. He has even started watching videos on buzzed about preparing food. So whenever a find a nice place I make  to return with him and Raffy of course.

So will I return to Cerchio with Jarod in tow?  Find out after the break.

Green Mango Shake (85php)

I ordered the green mango shake just coz I rarely see it in a menu, and when I do it is usually Not available. I expected it to be very sour, it was`t the taste was just right.

Starters:

Nachos (398php)

Warm nacho chips with chili con carne cheese sauce and grilled tomato salsa. These nachos were crispy and crunchy in spite of being soaked in generous cheese and ground meat. The kids will love this, coz you will run out of chips before you run out of topping.

Singaporean Crispy Squid Heads (205php)

Crispy crunchy squid heads with Chili Honey Garlic Glaze.  Looking at this dish you won`t really say they are squid heads, but they are actually are. Crispy crunchy and very addicting, I could probably finish an entire plate without even noticing.

Salads:

Grilled Shrimp with Pomelo (325php)

Mixed greens with pomelo in Hansen Peanut Vinigrette with grilled prawns.

Grilled Oriental Chicken Salad (255php)

Mixed greens with sesame peanut dressing topped with grilled chicken

We were served 2 kinds of salad. The veggies are still crisp and fresh to the bite and also they had citrus on their salads. Of the two I really enjoyed the uniqueness of the Grilled Shrimp with Pomelo, the mix with the haisen peanut.

Main Dishes:

Peri-peri Chicken with Rice Pilaf  (390hp)

I really like how soft and juicy the chicken is reminds of inasal, perhaps it`s the secret sauce but I found this dish very familiar and comforting at the same time.

Oven Baked Crispy Pata (668php)

3 Way Crispy Pata served with 3 kinds of sauce. I always tell myself that you only live once whenever I eat pork, I can never resist crispy pork anything. This is no exception. I mixed together 3 sauces to get my final sweet, spicy dip for this lovely pork dish.

Grilled Seafood (1,500php good for 1-3 persons)

Blue Marlin, Squid, Bangus Belly,  Tuna Belly, Shrimp with local vegetables with 4 kinds of dipping sauce.

It was a great treat for me at least to try out their seafood plate, with such a great selection of sea lovelies in one plate. Jarod is allergic to seafood so I really have it at home. I enjoyed the Shrimp and Blue Marlin the most.

Garlic Rice that comes with the Cerchio Seafood platter

Grilled Kare-Kare (460php)

Grille Oxtail, tripe and vegetables with peanut sauce and served with house bagoong. This is my favorite out of all the dishes served. I love the care they took to preparing this dish. The perfectly grilled eggplant, the sweet peanut sauce when mixed with their spicy house bagoong is the best thing ever! Whenever I have Kare-kare I usually finish off the veggies but their oxtail was very tender as well.

I found the ambiance great, the interiors bright and well lit on the first floor, the 2nd floor is a bit more private and they also have a smoking area/ alfresco side.

I would probably return with Jarod to try their pastas next time, also I know he will enjoy the Kare-kare like I did.

If you like Filipino or Asian Food and prefect a nice quiet place to dine with your family or friends Cerchio is a great place for you.
